About Kay

Kay Kwan is a Melbourne-based motion designer & video editor specializing in vibrant, cartoonish 3D animation and 2D motion graphics. Kay’s work is characterized by playful aesthetics, vibrant colours and cinematic elements.

Kay holds a Master of Animation, Games & Interactivity degree from RMIT University. With years of experience across advertising agencies, freelance projects, and in-house roles, Kay has developed a unique skill set that combines technical expertise with expressive storytelling, drawing from a background in film studies and advertising design.

Kay’s 360-degree animation Coffin Room was recognized at several festivals, winning the Rising Star Award at the QLD XR Festival and Best 360 and VR Project at the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival. It was also an official selection at FIVARS and the Open World Animation Festival.

Another animation, An Awakening Adventure, has been featured at numerous international festivals, including MIAF and MONSTRA Lisbon Animation Festival. Kay’s work has been showcased globally in Australia, Canada, the United States, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
